I have spent most of the past month on garden triage.
The former gardener, and I use that term loosely, apparently never learned how to prune, divide, or plan for mature size.
This will be a challenge, but then again it is also a new canvas.

My favorite place to start is soil. This is indeed the canvas.
Fall leaves always remind me of new beginnings. What is that saying? Something about an end is always necessary for a new beginning. I believe in cycles and connections in nature, and fall is the grand reminder of the connection between plant and soil. A gardener will look at a pile of leaves and see a red, orange and golden treasure to be stashed away for composting.
