This year I decided to tackle vegetable gardening with a full on attck, starting seeds under grow lights in February, purchasing cold frames, and extending beds for future growth and crop rotation.
The two raised beds established last year were expanded to a larger bed, matching the outline of the full sun patched available.
The herb garden got a makeover using the bamboo edging that previously supported the raised beds...
And a mound was created where a tree was removed in the front of the house for squash. Yes, in front of the house. I have strategically planted phygelius around the mound to provide a slight screen and some flower color from the street, but the foliage will be fully visible.
