Glorious Pollinators: butterflies and dragonflies

My first true garden goal was to establish a butterfly garden. Many of the plants that I initially chose for my garden were to attract butterflies. Since then I have expanded to hummingbirds and bees and other pollinators.

I have been reading about butterflies native to this area and the host plants.
We are watching diligently for Monarch butterfly eggs! We were given this native milkweed by the Monarch Society.I learned that the saxifrage is a host plant, which I had not considered.
We have spotted several Anise Swallowtail, but the variety of butterflies so far is not great.

The dragonflies are back this year. We have spotted blue and red so far, and they tend to stay around the lawn and trees.
